Did you know that Google AppSheet has a built-in assistant similar to Siri or Google Assistant? This powerful but somewhat hidden feature allows you to quickly find records in your app using voice or text commands. Once enabled, it appears in your app’s navigation, making it easy to search for data or trigger actions hands-free.
It’s especially helpful in apps where you need to access records quickly, for example a CRM or customer support system.
With the assistant, you can:
- Search for specific records, like “Show me everyone in the roster.”
- Filter records by specific fields, such as “Show me the roster for Pine Crest.”
- View details for a specific entry by using its label, for example “Show me Jack Taylor.”
- Run actions you’ve set up, like editing a record by saying “Edit this record.”
The assistant makes it much easier to navigate large datasets and perform quick actions without manually searching through lists. Check out the video to see exactly how it works.
