In this video, I show how to use your own Gmail or Google Workspace account to send emails from AppSheet using Google Apps Script. This can be a useful alternative if you’re noticing issues like AppSheet emails going to spam, not being delivered, or getting flagged unexpectedly.
The default no-reply@appsheet.com address has been used in some recent scams. That might cause more of those messages to be marked as spam or blocked by email providers. If your AppSheet workflow emails aren’t getting through, using your own account could potentially improve delivery, especially for internal use cases.
The video walks through how to set up this method with a job tracking app. When a new job is assigned, the assigned employee gets an email directly from my Gmail address, complete with job and customer details.
This method gives you more control over how your AppSheet emails are sent and might help avoid common spam filter issues when you’re emailing people inside your organization.
