In this video, I share a powerful but often overlooked feature in Google AppSheet that can save you a ton of time: the ability to snap photos directly within your app and draw on them right away.
This functionality is especially useful for anyone managing projects that involve visual documentation. I’ve personally used it for remodeling projects where I used to take pictures, open them in Photoshop, mark them up, paste them into a Google Doc, and then print them out. It worked, but it was a major hassle.
With AppSheet, you can do all of that inside a single app. You can take a picture, annotate it using built-in drawing tools, add any necessary notes, and share it. All without leaving the app.
Setting it up is incredibly simple. With just one checkbox in your column settings, you can enable photo annotation. On your phone, this means you can take a picture, tap edit, choose your color, and draw directly on the image.
If you’re working with a team or sharing instructions visually, this can dramatically streamline your process.
