AppSheet’s ‘AI Extract Rows’ feature allows you to import entire tables of data from PDFs or scanned documents directly into your apps. In this video, I demonstrate this by building a working example from scratch, using a sample credit card statement to guide the setup process.

The example illustrates how to set up tables, link documents to transactions, and automate the extraction process. Key setup details include assigning unique IDs, changing data types, and setting up automation for data extraction when a new PDF is added. This ensures data is transferred accurately and efficiently.

I also discuss the licensing requirements for using AI features in AppSheet, noting that an enterprise license is necessary. Despite this, the potential benefits in time savings and error reduction can justify the investment for businesses handling substantial amounts of data.
